Oh Bev, you're slideshow is beautiful and very touching. The music is perfect. This brought tears to my eyes. I know the feeling going through old pictures of friends and family that are no long here.

Thanks, Linda. It's only a small snippet of the slide show. I'm getting the rest of the photos today, and, since it will loop throughout the day, I suspect I won't use music on it--but I did want to make a small piece of it, with music, just for me.

They say that this life is just a series of tests. One after the other so we learn.

Your dear friend has just passed. She has graduated from this mundane class and is headed for higher learning.

What she has learned she takes with her, she takes her memories and her love, and her friends, which means you get to go with her.

Someday you will meet her again, and it will be a great reunion for you both. Hang in there. Cry and grieve, but also know she has graduated.

Your montage is beautiful, it's a lovely tribute.

What a beautiful tribute to your friend. I am sure it will bring comfort and good memories to those who see it.

Just dropping in from NaBloPoMo land to wish you well.

I looked at your 1953-1980 scrapbooks and was amazed. Then you said there were more upstairs in a floor-to-ceiling bookcase - and then more digital pictures! Wow.
My mother in law recently wrote a book about her great aunt, who lived at the turn of the century. It was a beautifully written account of a family, and her way into the story was that her great aunt was a keen photographer, in the early days of photography.
She has always kept well-documented albums, with people and places named.
The power of your slideshow of Michelle shows that pictures of someone I and your other friends here don't know can tell a story and touch us.
Most people don't have your stamina for documenting and cataloguing. As painful as it is, it's an amazing gift to your family and future generations.
