No video today
It feels funny sitting here at my desk without her sleeping in her little "cave" next to me. But at least I know she's not hurting any more.

Monkey Mia
Three years ago, I was standing in the aqua blue waters of the Indian Ocean with dolphins cavorting about my feet. It hardly seems possible.
Monkey Mia is the place ("Mia" is the Aboriginal word for "place") where the ship "Monkey" docked in Shark Bay, about halfway up the western coast of Australia.
Sometime in the 1960s bottleneck dolphins started visiting the Bay and interacting with humans. Over the years the keepers of the park have worked this habit of the wild dolphins into a tourist attraction. Up to 25 dolphins have been known to visit. They come on their own and are fed up to 3 times a day between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. They don't feed them after 1 because they don't want them to become dependent on humans for food.

Under the sea
This brief video was taken at the Aquarium Western Australia (AQWA), outside Perth. We were in a tube moving around through the waters and the mood is enhaned by the background music, I think.

Buy me some peanuts and crackerjack
The modern baseball stadium is a cornucopia of food choices. No longer just hot dogs, beer and peanuts. We went to see the San Diego Padres clobber the Giants today and since we arrived at AT&T stadium early, I decided to take inventory of just how many different food booths I could find.
It was also the Giants' tribute to 9/11 and they honored a lot of police, firemen, etc. The National Anthem was sung by one of the local police officers while there was a fireboat out in SF Bay giving a salute.

Sold!
If you want to really understand this video (and the in-jokes), you should read the back story on my journal, but basically this was taken in 1993 when our friends had sold their house and had a "house cooling" before they packed up to leave.
It had been a part of our "group" for over 20 years, through two different families, and our kids--and everybody else's kids were now grown up, but had good memories of the times they spent as little kids in the house.
This "stars" our son, Paul, and my friend's son Cam and...well...I'm mainly posting this for all the Pinata kids who might like to see it again.
